WE COULD USE A LITTLE RAIN
(Tom Fisch/Billy Montana)
The
grass is brown out in the yard
The dirt is dust, the ground is hard
Flowers fade as the heat drags on
Under the unforgiving sun
But
it wouldn’t take much water
to bring it back again
There’s still hope for what
we planted
We could use a little rain
A slow and steady shower to soak the
drought away
This ain’t nothing we can’t
handle
We could use a little rain
You
and me got our own dry spell
Neglected love is an empty well
That lies waiting to be filled
Unattended and thirsty still
But
it wouldn’t take much water
to bring us back again
Like a rose out on the desert
We could use a little rain
A revival of affection to bring about
the change
This ain’t nothing we can’t
handle
We could use a little rain
